Instructions related to service facilities
Time limits set by the Rail Regulatory Body for responses to service requests
Under section 133 of the Rail Transport Act (1302/2018) and Commission Implementing Regulation (2017/2177) on access to service facilities and rail-related services, the Rail Regulatory Body must set a time limit within which service facility operators must provide a response to service requests.
Instructions for requesting an exemption
On 22 November 2017, the Commission adopted an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2177 on access to service facilities and rail-related services. The Regulation is binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States. The Regulation concerns the services listed in points 2, 3 and 4 of Annex II to Directive 2012/34/EU.
The Regulation became applicable on 1 June 2019, with the exception of Article 2, which enables operators of service facilities to request exemption from the application of certain provisions of the Regulation from the Rail Regulatory Body. Article 2 became applicable on 1 January 2019.
